Landscape lights do their work after dark. Along a walkway they mark the edge and keep steps safe underfoot; aimed up into a tree or across a wall, they give a garden depth and show off bark and stone. Outdoors, soft pools of light look more natural than a bright flood that turns the garden flat.
Main series
- Aera: landscape lights, from spotlights to path lights.
- Chanterelle: path lights 8 to 12 inches wide.
Space path lights so that their pools of light meet rather than overlap, stagger them along a curving path instead of lining them up like a runway, and angle a light aimed at a tree away from windows and from the eyes of anyone walking by. Keep fixtures in a bed clear of mulch and fallen leaves so nothing blocks the light, and set them on a timer so the garden lights up at dusk without a trip outside.
Finishes
Bronze, the darker finish, blends into the planting by day.
